We are looking for a lawyer with a focus on data protection and digitalization, to the IT department in Stockholm or Sundsvall. This is an opportunity for you who want to be at the forefront of the digitalization of the public sector. The IT department of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency has established a business-oriented legal support and is seeking a lawyer with an interest in working in a development- and technology-focused environment, which also includes AI. The work offers opportunities to be innovative and to influence the design of various digital solutions. Legal support in data protection, digitalization, and information management
The work as a lawyer in the IT department involves providing legal support in IT development projects, by making legal considerations and providing guidance. You will be part of the digitalization development by helping to solve qualified legal challenges where there are not always given answers. Your mission is to support the IT department primarily in data protection and digitalization legal issues. This is an opportunity for you who want to enable digitalization while maintaining legal certainty. You also contribute to the agency's overall legal work by identifying areas in need of legal governance or regulatory development. You will be part of a team of four lawyers working within the IT department and collaborate with lawyers from other parts of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. To thrive in this role, you need to be good at collaborating as the work is largely conducted in working groups with different competencies. The work requires you to have the ability to solve complex legal issues based on extensive regulations and taking into account the needs of the business. You also need to have an understanding of the legal challenges that arise during digital development. Furthermore, you should be attracted to the ongoing interplay between technology and law and have knowledge of – or interest in – the new legislation that exists and is forthcoming regarding digitalization and information management. Since the area and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency are located in several places around the country, much of the communication takes place digitally.

The position involves handling confidential information which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you who will work with us have a high security awareness.

We are looking for you who

  • have a law degree
  • have very good knowledge of data protection and/or digitalization issues
  • have good knowledge of public access and secrecy as well as other administrative law
  • have experience of project work in an administrative authority or other larger organization
  • have practical experience of legal work in the area of data protection and/or digitalization
  • have the ability to work independently and take responsibility for results with high quality
  • have a systematic and meticulous working method
  • can understand and analyze complex issues
  • have good communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • appreciate and have a very good ability to collaborate with others.

It is meritorious if you

  • are a court clerk or have other equivalent court experience
  • have experience of legal issues related to information supply
  • have experience of working with AI from a legal perspective.

Other
A permanent, full-time position, starting on August 15 or by agreement. A probationary period applies. Possibility for remote work exists if the work allows. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment.
